What Puts The "Hot" in Pepper Spray?

I'm assuming everyone know that there's really pepper in pepper spray, but how do they get it in that little canister?

Here's a quick comparison about some of the different types of pepper sprays on the market:

• There are pepper sprays, pepper gels,pepper foams, pepper streams, and pepper foggers. Each one will have a different effective range for use, different coverage on your attacker, and possibly different effects on your attacker.
